In creating True Energy Yoga, the purpose is to increase health, fitness, and longevity for people.
True Energy Yoga is about finding inner strength and calm, and getting as fit as possible in the most efficient and direct way.
As a teenager, I learned about the power of Qi Gong and yoga while meditating in the Songshan mountains.During that time, I was naive and young, but I knew that there was something powerful about what the traditions referred to as “inner energy.” For most of my life, I’ve been a martial arts/fitness coach; however, that early experience never left me. In later life, when I started to study Sport Science, I had a better understanding of what it was.
There is indeed real inner energy; however, I no longer believe in kundalini, chakras, or mystical Qi energy that flows around your body! There is only the brain, blood, nerves, neurotransmitters, and various physiology. In this exists electric and biochemical energy. You can feel and control this through meditation, visualization, and exercise. You can bring it into harmony and feel good feelings, achieve good health, and generate massive strength.
True Energy Yoga is a simplified form of yoga based on scientific truths, and it will continue to evolve. It starts with softer training, such as various meditation and stretching techniques. In later stages, it should be combined with harder physical training to develop strength and cardio too. It is designed in such a way that no matter what your condition or age, you can benefit.
I believe it will give people health, fitness, longevity, and a good life. I might be wrong, and I invite everyone to question everything I say; however, my intention is to do the greatest good.

Hi, I’m Katie, and I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds to help bring out the best version of themselves.
I am passionate about fitness from a holistic point of view, considering the mental and physical aspects of a healthy lifestyle as having equal importance. Mindset, developing healthy habits, and mental resilience are all key to enjoying exercise and fitness long-term, so I place a lot of importance on this while we train.
My background in martial arts and yoga has taught me this philosophy, and I try to take the best parts from each discipline and make them approachable and accessible to all.
I’ve practiced different martial arts since age 11, such as Lau Gar Kung Fu (1st Dan black belt), Ninjutsu, and Muay Thai. I discovered a love for Muay Thai and boxing a few years ago and love coaching women and beginners to empower people and show that it’s easier than you think to start learning these skills.
I’ve also practiced different forms of yoga for over 10 years and love teaching a fusion of styles, plus my new concept of bringing both yoga and martial arts together in my ‘Zen Warriors’ class!
I am drawn to opposing ideas and concepts in fitness, and love how the different energies of yoga and fighting/self-defense complement one another.
Above all, I value a healthy mindset, balance, resilience, and fun in my own training and when training others, as well as mental/physical flexibility and open-mindedness to trying new things.
